EP-U Certificate and Individual Energy Advice

On January 4, 2003 the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive was publicised by the European Union. According to this Directive the EU countries had to put into Law an energy label, based on energy consumption of large warehouses with a surface of > 1,000 m², before the beginning of 2006. This energy performance label should be based on a generally accepted method of calculating the integrated energy consumption of buildings.

More importantly, new to be build or extensively renovated warehouses, do need an energy performance certificate, which reflects that energy savings measures have been implemented as proposed by an independent energy consultant. This so-called EP-U certificate is required for any sale or renting of such a property.
